THR reports that Universal Pictures has landed the rights to the Doctor Dolittle character and has set Robert Downey Jr. to star with Stephen Gaghan on board to write and direct. Entitled The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, the movie will utilize story elements from the 1920s series of children’s books authored by Hugh Lofting. See video for details.
